چکیده
Tumefactive multiple sclerosis with the presence of tumefactive demyelinating lesions (TDL) is an infrequent manifestation sclerosis. It poses a diagnostic challenge, especially in attempts to differentiate it from central nervous system neoplasm or other disorders, such as neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD). The article reports case 40-year-old female during chronic steroid therapy administered due episode idiopathic transverse myelitis. patient developed tumour-like brain left hemispheric parietal-occipital region. process was hindered by extended treatment and lack compliance. This example insufficient knowledge about rare forms need for holistic approach involving through analysis medical history previous records.

Multiple Large Tumefactive MS Plaques in a Young Man: A Diagnostic Enigma and Therapeutic Challenge
Tumefactive demyelinating lesion is defined as large solitary demyelinating lesion with imaging characteristics mimicking neoplasm. These atypical features include size more than 2 cm, mass effect, edema, and/or ring enhancement. Distinguishing tumefactive lesions from other etiologies of intracranial space occupying lesions is essential to avoid inadvertent surgical or toxic chemotherapeutic i...
متن کاملTumefactive multiple sclerosis plaque.
W e present a case of a large solitary demyelinating plaque in the brain masquerading as tumour. A 34 year old healthy woman presented with sudden onset of left hemiparesis. Subsequent MRI of the brain showed a single large 2.5 cm right sided enhancing lesion within the white matter of the parietal lobe (fig 1). The lesion appeared to originate from the corpus callosum. Diffusion weighted and g...
متن کاملTumefactive: A Rare First presentation of Multiple Sclerosis
Tumefactive demyelinating lesions are a rare presentation of multiple sclerosis (MS). Diagnosis of tumefactive is commonly carried out using magnetic resonance image (MRI). Tumefactive diagnosis is difficult because of may similar to the clinical and MRI characteristics of glioma or a cerebral abscess. We presented a 35-years-old female with one episode of secondary generalized seizure after de...

BACKGROUND Multiple sclerosis (MS) is less common in Asia, including Taiwan, and some characteristics of MS in Asians differ from those of Caucasians. Tumefactive brain lesion is even rarer in MS patients. OBJECTIVE To review patients with tumefactive MS and compare them with those in other studies investigating tumefactive demyelinating lesions and our Taiwanese typical MS patients. METHOD...
